MELBOURNE - May 4/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Queensland was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A ridge of high pressure over central Australia is pushing dry, cool air across much of Queensland. Forecast for the rest of SundayFine and clear across the state. Moderate to fresh southeast to southwest winds.Monday 5 MayCool, fine and dry across most of the state with areas of morning frost through the southern and southeast interior. An onshore flow may produce some isolated showers over Cape York Peninsula. Mainly moderate southeast to southwest winds.Tuesday 6 MayA high near Tasmania will maintain fine and sunny conditions across Queensland except for the chance of some isolated showers in an onshore flow about the far northern tropics. Areas of morning frost about the southern and southeast interior, though less widespread than experienced during Monday.Wednesday 7 MayThe high near Tasmania should push fresh southeast winds and some showers across Queensland's southeast coast. Fine elsewhere across the state except for some isolated showers in an onshore flow about the far northern tropics. Patchy morning frost about the southeast interior.Thursday 8 MayThe high should remain near Tasmania and it, along with approaching upper level trough, should cause showers to increase over Queensland's southeast districts, particularly near the coast. More isolated showers about the remainder of the east coast, and fine and mostly sunny over the remainder of the state.Friday until SundayThe high should move into the Tasman Sea and maintain showers about the east coast, though they should be less frequent about the southeast coast as the upper trough moves offshore during Friday.
