MELBOURNE - May 3/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A deep low system just east of Tasmania is expected to move eastwards over the Tasman Sea today. A cold front is expected to move eastwards from the Southern Ocean and affect Victoria during Monday, clearing eastern Victoria during Tuesday morning. A strong and slow-moving high pressure system will lie just to the southwest of Victoria on Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of SundayScattered showers over southern areas. Isolated showers extending into the northern plains, though fine in the far north and northwest. Snowfalls down to 1200 metres. A cold and mostly cloudy day with fresh to strong southwesterly winds easing from the west during the day.Monday 5 MayCool to cold and mostly cloudy with isolated showers over southern and mountain districts, becoming scattered in the south as moderate to fresh west to northwest winds shift southwesterly. Isolated show showers on the Alpine peaks.Tuesday 6 MayIsolated showers in the south, scattered over Gippsland in the morning and falling as snow above 1400 meters. Generally cool and partly cloudy with moderate south to southwesterly winds, fresh about the coast.Wednesday 7 MayIsolated showers, mainly coastal and on adjacent ranges. Dry and partly cloudy inland.
