Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 3/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure complex located east of State is expected to deepen further tonight, then move southeastwards into the Tasman Sea on Sunday. A cold front is expected to move eastwards from the Southern Ocean and affect Victoria during Monday, clearing eastern Victoria during Tuesday morning.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayAreas of rain over the southeast, with locally heavy falls. Scattered showers for the remainder, though tending more isolated over the northwest and clearing later. Snow above 1500 metres. Mostly cloudy with moderate to fresh south to southwesterly winds, reaching gale force near the coast and over the southeast.Sunday 4 MayScattered showers near the coast and mountain areas, widespread at first over East Gippsland though easing in the morning. Isolated showers extending into the northern plains, though dry in the far northwest. Snowfalls down to 1200 metres. A cold and mostly cloudy day with fresh to strong southwesterly winds easing from the west during the day, strong to gale force at first about the Gippsland coast. Isolated morning frost patches inland.Monday 5 MayCool to cold and mostly cloudy with isolated showers over southern and mountain districts, becoming scattered in the south as moderate to fresh west to northwest winds shift southwesterly. Isolated show showers on the Alpine peaks.Tuesday 6 MayIsolated showers in the south, scattered over Gippsland in the morning and falling as snow above 1400 meters. Generally cool and partly cloudy with moderate south to southwesterly winds, fresh about the coast.Wednesday 7 MayIsolated showers, mainly coastal and on adjacent ranges. Dry and partly cloudy inland. A cool day with light to moderate southerly winds, tending fresher in the southeast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EST Sunday.Product IDV10310
