Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 3/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A complex low is deepening east of Tasmania. It has brought a significant cold outbreak to New South Wales. Conditions should ease on Sunday as the low moves away and the next high pressure ridge extends across from the west to be centred to the west of Tasmania for several days. This high should direct a southwest to southeast airstream over the state before moving to the southern Tasman Sea later in the week.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayFine in the far west. Rain areas elsewhere, contracting east through the day although lingering about the tablelands and adjacent western slopes. Snow showers on the Alps to around 1300 metres, and possibly on high parts of the ACT, Central Tablelands and Northern Tablelands. Cold, fresh to strong and gusty northwest to southwesterly winds extending throughout.Sunday 4 MayRain or showers in the eastern half , contracting to the western slopes early, and mostly clearing later. Possible early snow flurries about higher parts. Isolated snow showers on the Alps to around 1400 metres. Fine elsewhere. Cool to cold west to southwesterly winds, fresh and gusty in the east.Monday 5 MayFine apart from isolated showers over the far southern border late in the day, falling as snow on the Alps above 1700 metres. Morning frost about the ranges and slopes. Cool to cold west to southwesterly winds.Tuesday 6 MayIsolated showers in the south, mostly about the southern slopes, with snow above about 1600 metres. Isolated showers developing later on the coastal fringe from the Illawarra to the lower Mid North coast. Fine elsewhere. Cool to cold southwest to southeast winds.Wednesday 7 MayIsolated showers on the coastal fringe north from the Illawarra and also about the far southeast. Fine elsewhere.
