Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 2/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure complex is developing to the east of State and will deepen further today. The main low will then move southeastwards over the Tasman Sea on Sunday as another cold front is expected to move northeastwards from the Southern Ocean to affect Victoria on Monday. This front will clear eastern Victoria by Tuesday morning.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayAreas of rain over the southwest this morning and developing over the southeast during the afternoon with locally heavy falls. Scattered showers otherwise, although showers clearing over the northwest later. Snow above 1300 metres. Mostly cloudy with moderate to fresh to strong and gusty south to southwesterly winds, reaching gale force near the coast and over the southeast.Sunday 4 MayScattered showers over southern and mountain areas, widespread at first in East Gippsland. Isolated showers reaching the northern plains. Snowfalls down to 1200 metres. A cold and mostly cloudy day generally fresh southwesterly winds, strong to gale force at first about the Gippsland coast.Monday 5 MayCool to cold and mostly cloudy with isolated showers over southern and mountain districts, becoming scattered in the south as moderate to fresh west to northwest winds shift southwesterly. Isolated show showers on the Alpine peaks.Tuesday 6 MayIsolated showers in the south, scattered over Gippsland and falling as snow above 1200 meters. Showers easing in the west. Cool to mild and partly cloudy with moderate southwest to southerly winds, fresh about the coast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Saturday.Product IDV10310
