Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 2/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high southwest of Perth extends a ridge of high pressure over the north of the State. A weak front will move over the south of the State on Monday, followed by the high which will strengthen and be centred to the south of the Bight on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated thunderstorms and small hail southeast of about Port Lincoln to Hawker to Renmark, contracting east of the border during the morning. Scattered showers about coasts and ranges, and over western districts south of Coober Pedy. Showers easing to isolated in south during the morning. Isolated showers over the remainder of the agricultural area, chiefly morning. Cool to cold with light to moderate southwesterly winds, fresh at times in the south.Sunday 4 MayEarly frost over and to the east of the Mount Lofty and Flinders ranges to the south of about Leigh Creek. Isolated showers over southern coasts and the West Coast district. The chance of isolated afternoon showers over the Northwest Pastoral district. Cool with mainly light winds, turning light to moderate northwesterly about the coasts in the evening.Monday 5 MayIsolated showers developing over the southern agricultural area, increasing to scattered near southern coasts. Cool to mild with chiefly light winds, tending light to moderate northwest to southwesterly near southern coasts.Tuesday 6 MayIsolated showers south of about Leigh Creek, but dry over the southern agricultural area, and contracting northwards during the day. Cool to mild with light to moderate south to southeasterly winds, turning northeasterly in the west. Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday morning to midnight Tuesday are expected to be 5 to 10 mm over the southern agricultural area, the West Coast district, and southern parts of the Flinders ranges. Falls of 2 to 5 mm are expected over the remainder of the agricultural area, the Northwest Pastoral and southwestern parts of the Northeast Pastoral. Falls of less than 2 mm are expected over the remainder.Wednesday until FridayIsolated showers about far southern coasts and in the west of the State, clearing on Thursday, then fine on Friday. Cool to mild with light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds, becoming northeasterly throughout on Friday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Saturday.Product IDS10033
