MELBOURNE - May 2/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high southwest of Perth extends a ridge of high pressure over the north of the State. A weak front will move over the south of the State on Monday, followed by the high which will strengthen and be centred to the south of the Bight on Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers south of about Moomba to Cook, increasing to scattered showers over the agricultural area and remaining coasts and ranges. Possible isolated thunderstorms and small hail east of about Leigh Creek to Port Lincoln. Showers easing away from the coast and ranges during the evening. Cool to cold with fresh southwest to westerly winds.Saturday 3 MayIsolated thunderstorms and small hail east of about Port Lincoln to Leigh Creek in the early morning. Scattered showers over coasts and ranges and over western districts south of Coober Pedy, becoming isolated in the afternoon. Isolated showers over the remainder, chiefly morning. Cool to cold with light to moderate southwesterly winds, fresh at times in the south.Sunday 4 MayEarly frost over and to the east of the Mount Lofty and Flinders ranges to the south of about Leigh Creek. Isolated showers over southern coasts and the West Coast district. The chance of isolated afternoon showers over the Northwest Pastoral district. Cool with mainly light winds, turning light to moderate northwesterly about the coasts in the evening.Monday 5 MayIsolated showers developing over the southern agricultural area, increasing to scattered near southern coasts. Cool to mild with chiefly light winds, tending light to moderate northwest to southwesterly near southern coasts.Tuesday 6 MayIsolated showers south of about Leigh Creek, but dry over the southern agricultural area, and contracting northwards during the day. Cool to mild with light to moderate south to southeasterly winds, turning northeasterly in the west. Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday evening to midnight Tuesday are expected to be 2 to 10 mm over the agricultural area, and parts of the West Coast district, increasing to 10 to 20 mm near coasts and ranges and over parts of the Mid North, Mount Lofty Ranges, southern Flinders and Lower South East districts. Falls of less than 5 mm are expected over the remainder.Wednesday until FridayIsolated showers about far southern coasts and in the west of the State, clearing on Thursday, then fine on Friday.
