Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 30/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front crossing is moving through northeastern New South Wales and a high pressure system southwest of Australia is extending a weak ridge behind it. During Friday another, stronger cold front will cross the state bringing cold west to southwesterly airstream. Behind this front a high pressure system is expected to move over southeastern Australia on Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayPartly cloudy, in the west. Isolated clearing showers in the far southeast. Rain areas in the northeast contracting further northeast and clearing. Southwest to southeast winds, extending through the northeast later.Thursday 1 MayIsolated showers on the north coast and adjacent ranges. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds tending variable inland.Friday 2 MayPartly cloudy in the east with isolated clearing showers on the north coast and ranges. Rain areas extending through western and central parts. Snow above 1600 metres. West to northwesterly winds, tending cold southwesterly in the far west.Saturday 3 MayPartly cloudy in the far northwest. Areas of rain elsewhere contracting east. Cold and gusty northwest to southwest winds extending throughout.Sunday 4 MayIsolated clearing showers on the western slopes and ranges and on the south coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere.
