Weather Situation A cold front will move across Victoria today, clearing the far east tonight. The next high pressure ridge will extend across Victoria late Wednesday with another cold front approaching western Victoria Thursday night. This front will sweep across Victoria on Friday leaving a cold and gusty southwesterly airstream in its wake. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayA band of rain extending from the southwest, reaching eastern districts this afternoon and evening. Locally heavy falls possible over the southwest and near the ranges. Rain clearing in the west later with scattered showers to follow at night, mainly over the south. Isolated thunderstorms in the southwest tonight. Fresh to strong and gusty northerly winds, locally reaching gale force, ahead of a westerly change extending through western and central districts in the late morning and afternoon and eastern areas at night.Fire Danger - Low to Moderate.Wednesday 30 AprilRain clearing from the east early in the morning. Scattered showers, falling as snow above 1500 metres, and isolated thunderstorms across southern and mountain districts, contracting to the coast and clearing later. A cool to cold day with moderate to fresh southwesterly winds gradually easing from the west.Thursday 1 MayMorning fog and frost in the east. Isolated showers developing later in the southwest. A cool day with winds tending light to moderate northwesterlyFriday 2 MayAreas of rain in the west extending to the east during the late morning and afternoon.
