MELBOURNE - Apr 28/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge over northeast New South Wales. This high will weaken and move eastwards as a cold front moves across the state during Tuesday and Wednesday. The next front is expected to cross the state on the weekend. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayPartly cloudy in the northeast with isolated morning showers on the far north coast. Rain areas extending from the west through the inland, possibly reaching southern coastal districts later tonight. Areas of morning fog across eastern parts. Northeast to northwesterly winds ahead of a gusty west to southwesterly change in the southwest.Wednesday 30 AprilPartly cloudy in the far southwest. Rain areas elsewhere contracting to the northeast of the state, falling as snow about the Alpine peaks. Southwest to southeast winds extending throughout.Thursday 1 MayIsolated showers on the north coast and adjacent ranges. Partly cloudy in the remainder. Southeast to northeasterly winds tending variable inland.Friday 2 MayPartly cloudy in the northeast with isolated showers in the northeast. Rain areas extending from the west through the inland, falling as snow above 1600 metres.
