Weather Situation A high pressure system lies over the Tasman Sea. A strong cold front will move across Victoria on Tuesday. The next high pressure ridge will extend across Victoria on Wednesday with another cold front approaching western Victoria late on Thursday. This front will sweep across Victoria on Friday leaving a cold and gusty southwesterly airstream in its wake. Forecast for the rest of MondayFine apart from isolated showers in the southwest and central areas. Moderate to fresh northerly winds.Tuesday 29 AprilRain over western districts during the early morning extending to the east in the afternoon. Locally heavy falls near the ranges. Rain clearing in the west later with scattered showers to follow, mainly over the south. Isolated thunderstorms in the southwest at night. Fresh and gusty northerly winds, locally reaching strong to gale force over the ranges, ahead of a west to southwesterly change extending through western and central districts in the late morning and afternoon and eastern areas at night.Fire Danger - Low to Moderate.Wednesday 30 AprilRain clearing from the east early in the morning. Scattered showers, falling as snow above 1500 metres, and isolated thunderstorms across southern and mountain districts, contracting to the coast and clearing later. A cool to cold day with moderate to fresh southwesterly winds gradually easing from the west.Thursday 1 MayMorning fog and frost in the east. Isolated showers developing later in the southwest. A cool day with winds tending light to moderate northwesterlyFriday 2 MayAreas of rain in the west extending to the east during the late morning and afternoon.
