Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 25/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high over the western Tasman Sea is extending a ridge into New South Wales this evening, as a weakening trough lies across the state's northwest. This trough will move towards the northeast later on Saturday as a cold front passes to the south, bringing a southerly change to southern and central districts. The trough is expected to weaken over the northeast during Sunday as the next high moves from the Bight to the Tasman Sea. A stronger trough and associated cold front are forecast to affect the region during Tuesday and Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms in the northeast, and about the central tablelands, contracting to the coast during the evening. Fine elsewhere. Northeast to southeasterly winds becoming generally light and variable inland.Saturday 26 AprilA little patchy rain in the far west. Isolated showers along the coastal fringe in the north at first, and in the southeast during the afternoon or evening. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Northwest to northeasterly winds, fresh in the southeast, before a southwesterly change through western and southern parts.Sunday 27 AprilIsolated showers about the coast and eastern ranges, tending scattered along the coastal fringe in the north with the chance of thunderstorms. Generally fine west of the ranges, apart from a little patchy rain in the Upper Western. East to southeasterly winds, fresh along the coast.Monday 28 AprilIsolated showers in the northeast, tending scattered along the coast at first. Fine elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds, turning northerly across the south during the afternoon.Tuesday 29 AprilRain areas developing in the southwest, extending through central and southeast districts later in the day then easing in the west. Fine elsewhere, apart from the chance of early showers on the northern coast. Northeast to northwesterly winds ahead of a gusty west to southwesterly change in the south and west.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EST Saturday.Product IDN10031
