MELBOURNE - Apr 24/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high over the northern Tasman Sea extends a weak ridge to southeast Queensland, while a deep low lies well south of Tasmania. A cold front associated with this low is bringing a southerly change to southern and central parts of New South Wales today, but is expected to weaken over the northeast during Friday as a high pressure system moves from the Bight to the Tasman Sea. Another cold front is forecast in the south later Saturday, continuing through to the Queensland border on Sunday. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayFine apart from isolated showers about the southern and central coasts during the evening. Northwest to northeasterly winds, with a south to southwesterly change in the south, strong along the coast.Friday 25 AprilIsolated showers in most eastern districts, tending scattered along the central part of the coast. Generally fine in the far southeast and in the west. Northeast to southeasterly winds.Saturday 26 AprilIsolated showers along the coastal fringe in the north at first and in the far southeast during the afternoon. A little patchy rain in the far west. Otherwise fine. Northwest to northeasterly winds before a southwesterly change through western and southern parts, strong along the coast.Sunday 27 AprilIsolated showers about the coast and eastern ranges, tending scattered along the coastal fringe in the north. Fine west of the ranges. East to southeasterly winds, fresh along the coast.Monday 28 AprilIsolated showers in the northeast, tending scattered along the coast at first. Fine elsewhere.
