MELBOURNE - Apr 20/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system lies over New South Wales today, while a trough is situated off the coast. This high is expected to weaken today as another trough approaches from the west, which is expected to enter the state's southwest during Tuesday before stalling over central parts. The trough is expected to become mobile again on Thursday, moving to the northeast with the assistance of a cold front passing to the south. Behind this, a new ridge appears likely to become the dominant feature as it extends across from the west towards the end of the week. Forecast for the rest of MondayFine. Early fog patches in the east, then mostly sunny. Light and variable winds tending moderate northerly in the west, and afternoon sea breezes developing along the coast.Tuesday 22 AprilFine apart from the chance of showers near the Victorian border later in the day. Partly cloudy. Northwest to northeasterly winds, turning southwesterly in the southwest later.Wednesday 23 AprilPartly cloudy with isolated showers in the far southeast. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Warm day for the northwest. Northwest to northeasterly winds, before a weak southerly change in the west and south.Thursday 24 AprilIsolated showers about the coast and eastern ranges. Generally fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Warm day in the north, particularly west of the ranges.
