Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 19/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system centred over northwestern Victoria will continue to drift eastwards during Sunday and Monday to reach the central Tasman Sea by Tuesday. A cold front will move across Bass Strait later on Sunday followed by another front which will reach far western Victoria late on Monday. This front will cross the remainder of the State on Tuesday as the next high pressure system develops over the Bight. A high pressure ridge will move over northern Victoria on Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers in the south contracting to the coast. Fine over the north. Light to moderate west to southwesterly winds.Sunday 20 AprilIsolated showers developing near the western, central and South Gippsland coasts. Fine elsewhere apart from morning fog patches, mainly over the northeast. A cool and partly cloudy day with light winds inland and moderate westerlies developing near the coast.Fire Danger -  Low to Moderate.Monday 21 AprilIsolated showers extending through western and central districts but fine over the far north and east. Cool and partly cloudy with freshening northerly winds.Tuesday 22 AprilScattered showers, mainly over southern and mountain districts, contracting eastwards. Fine over the far northwest. Cool to mild with moderate to locally fresh north to northwesterly winds shifting southwest to southerly.Wednesday 23 AprilScattered showers in southern areas becoming isolated and contracting eastwards during the day. Fine in the north after morning fog patches. A cool and partly cloudy day with a light to moderate west to southwesterly wind, fresh at times near the coast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EST Sunday.Product IDV10310
