MELBOURNE - Apr 14/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure system located over the central Tasman Sea is expected to move further eastwards today. A high pressure system over waters south of Adelaide is moving east southeastwards and is forecast to pass just to the south of Tasmania today whilst extending a ridge northwards across Victoria. The high will reach the south Tasman Sea on Wednesday but the ridge will persist over Victoria until Thursday. The next cold front will approach southwest Victoria Thursday night and rapidly cross the State during Friday. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayEarly fog patches. Isolated showers over southern and mountain districts, contracting to the far east in the evening. Dry and mostly sunny over the north. Cool to mild with light to moderate south to southeast winds.Fire Danger - Low to Moderate.Wednesday 16 AprilFine apart from morning fog patches and isolated showers in the far east. Cool to mild with cloud increasing in the west and light winds.Thursday 17 AprilLocal morning fog patches then fine and mostly sunny. Light winds.Friday 18 AprilScattered showers developing from the west, mainly over southern and mountain districts.
