MELBOURNE - Apr 13/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure system located over the Tasman Sea is expected to move slowly eastwards over the next few days. A high pressure system over waters south of the Bight is moving east southeastwards and is forecast to pass just to the south of Tasmania on Tuesday whilst extending a ridge northwards across Victoria. The high will reach the south Tasman Sea on Wednesday. The next cold front will approach southwest Victoria Thursday night. Forecast for the rest of MondayFine apart from local early morning fog patches, and isolated showers over Gippsland. Generally mild with light to moderate south to southeasterly winds.Fire Danger - Low to moderate.Tuesday 15 AprilEarly fog patches. Isolated showers over southern and mountain districts, scattered along the Gippsland coast. Dry and mostly sunny over the north. Cool to mild with light to moderate south to southeast winds.Wednesday 16 AprilFine apart from morning fog patches and isolated showers in the far east. Cool to mild with light winds.Thursday 17 AprilFine apart from the chance of showers in the far east.
