MELBOURNE - Apr 12/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure system located over the Tasman Sea is expected to move slowly southwards. A high pressure system over the south Tasman Sea extends a ridge across Tasmania to another high over waters south of the Bight. The high south of the Bight is moving east southeastwards and is expected to pass just to the south of Tasmania on Tuesday. The high will reach the south Tasman Sea on Wednesday but will extend a ridge northwards across Victoria. Forecast for the rest of SundayScattered showers over Gippsland. Fine elsewhere in the south after morning fog patches. Sunny at first over the north, but becoming partly cloudy during the afternoon with isolated light showers possible over the far northwest. Cool to mild with generally light to moderate southeast to southerly winds.Fire Danger - Low to moderate.Monday 14 AprilFine apart from morning fog patches and isolated showers in Gippsland. Cool to mild with light to moderate southeasterly winds.Tuesday 15 AprilEarly fog patches. Isolated showers in southern and mountain districts, scattered along the Gippsland coast. Cool to mild with light to moderate south to southeast winds.Wednesday 16 AprilFine apart from isolated showers in the east.
