MELBOURNE - Apr 12/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure system located off the New South Wales south coast will continue to move slowly away to the northeast. A high pressure system over the south Tasman Sea extends a ridge to the Bight. A weakening cold front will move across Tasmania on Sunday night. A high pressure system to the south of Perth will then quickly extend a ridge towards Tasmania with the high centre moving to south of Tasmania on Tuesday and extending a ridge across Victoria. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers over southern and mountain districts, scattered over Gippsland. Fine over the north. Cool to mild with generally light to moderate south to southeasterly winds, fresh in Gippsland.Sunday 13 AprilIsolated showers in the south, scattered over Gippsland. Fine elsewhere after morning fog patches. Cool to mild with light to moderate southeasterly winds, fresh at times near the Gippsland coast.Fire Danger - Low to moderate.Monday 14 AprilFine apart from morning fog patches and isolated showers in Gippsland. Cool to mild with light to moderate southeasterly winds.Tuesday 15 AprilEarly fog patches. Isolated showers in southern and mountain districts, scattered along the Gippsland coast. Cool to mild with light to moderate south to southeast winds.Wednesday 16 AprilFine apart from isolated showers in the east.
