Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 12/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system currently off the central NSW coast is generating strong coastal winds and large waves. The system is expected to move slowly east/southeast away from the coast later this evening and into Sunday as a high pressure ridge builds across the region. A strengthening high south of Tasmania early in the new week is likely to maintain a ridge across NSW for several days, with the resulting southeasterly airstream bringing showers to the coast and eastern ranges.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers in the east, becoming scattered to widespread about the southern half of the coast. The chance of thunderstorms in the far northeast this afternoon. Fine and partly cloudy in western and central districts. Southeast to southwesterly winds. Dangerous surf conditions on the southern and central coasts.Sunday 13 AprilIsolated showers in the east, tending scattered about the coastal fringe in southern and central parts. Early fog patches in the east, mainly about the tablelands. Fine and partly cloudy in the western and central districts. Southeast to southwesterly winds, fresh along much of the coast. Dangerous surf conditions on the southern and central coasts.Monday 14 AprilIsolated showers along the coast and adjacent ranges, tending scattered about the coastal fringe. Early fog patches in the east, mainly about the tablelands. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. South to southeasterly winds.Tuesday 15 AprilIsolated showers along the coast and adjacent ranges, tending scattered about the coastal fringe in central parts. Afternoon showers and possible thunderstorms about the northern inland, more likely near the Queensland border. Fine elsewhere. South to southeasterly winds.Wednesday 16 AprilIsolated showers in the east, tending scattered about the coastal fringe over the central parts. Fine elsewhere.
