MELBOURNE - Apr 10/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A broad low pressure trough over western New South Wales is deepening and moving slowly east and a low is forming with the trough. The trough will move over the the east of the state during Friday and weaken while the low will deepen further over the southeast before moving off the south coast overnight. The trough and low are expected to weaken over the western Tasman Sea on Sunday as a high pressure system moves south of the Bight extending a ride to the east. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayPartly cloudy in the northeast. Areas of rain elsewhere with locally moderate to heavy falls in the far southern inland. The chance of thunderstorms in the west, chiefly afternoon and evening. Northeast to northwesterly winds, freshening in the south and west.Friday 11 AprilPartly cloudy in the far northwest and in the far northeast. Isolated showers elsewhere and the tending scattered in the southeast with rain ares on the western slopes of the southern ranges with possible local moderate to heavy falls. The chance of thunderstorms in southern, central and eastern districts. Northeast to northwesterly winds, turning fresh southwesterly in the west.Saturday 12 AprilIsolated showers in the eastern half, tending scattered on the central coast and rain areas on the far south coast with local heavy falls. The chance of thunderstorms near the northern and central coasts. Partly cloudy in the west. Southeast to southwesterly winds tending west to northwesterly in the northeast.Sunday 13 AprilIsolated showers in the east tending scattered on the southern half of the coast. Partly cloudy in the western and central parts. Southeast to southwesterly winds.Monday 14 AprilIsolated showers coast and adjacent ranges tending scattered on the southern and central coastal fringe. Partly cloudy elsewhere.
