Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 9/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high centred over the southern Tasman Sea is moving eastwards. A low pressure system will develop over the State overnight, then move southeastwards to be over northern Victoria on Thursday afternoon, and over waters east of Victoria on Sunday. A ridge of high pressure will develop over the west of the State in the wake of the low.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayAreas of rain east of about Ceduna to Ernabella, tending patchy near southern coasts and in the South East district. Possible heavy falls with the chance of local flooding over areas to the north and east of about Marla to Wudinna to Naracoorte, but not northeast of Broken Hill to Oodnadatta. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms west of about Ceduna to Ernabella. Generally cool to mild, grading to hot in the far northeast. Mainly light and variable winds.Thursday 10 AprilAreas of rain, tending to widespread rain over the agricultural area with possible heavy falls and the chance of local flooding. Rain easing from the west during the day. Rain tending to isolated showers over the North West Pastoral and also west of Ceduna. Possible isolated thunderstorms east of about Ceduna to Oodnadatta, contracting eastwards during the day. Cool to mild, grading to warm in the far northeast. Light and variable winds, becoming light to moderate southwesterly from the west during the day, freshening near the coasts and in the east during the afternoon.Friday 11 AprilIsolated showers, scattered over the agricultural area to the east of Cleve during the morning. Showers contracting to the coasts in the evening. Cool in the south grading to mild to warm in the far northeast. Moderate to fresh southwest to southerly winds.Saturday 12 AprilIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area and remaining coasts. Cool in the south grading to mild in the far northeast with moderate to fresh southwest to southerly winds.Sunday 13 April
The chance of isolated showers over the southern agricultural area. Cool generally with mainly moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday afternoon to midnight Sunday are expected to be 20 to 60 mm over the agricultural area and south of the Northwest Pastoral, with local falls in excess of 60 mm, however falls will ease to 10 to 20 mm to the south and west of about Marla to Wudinna to Naracoorte, and also to the northeast of Broken Hill to Oodnadatta.
