Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 7/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high centred over the southern Tasman Sea is moving southeastwards. A trough of low pressure over the west of South Australia will remain the dominant feature this week, with a low pressure system developing over southern South Australia from later Wednesday, before moving slowly east to be over Victoria later Friday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayAreas of rain and possible thunderstorms east of about Kingscote to Giles, tending patchy to the south and east and over the North East Pastoral. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms to the west. Widespread rain with possible heavy falls over the north of the North West Pastoral district. Warm to hot in the far northeast, grading to mild in the rain areas. Mainly light to moderate northerly winds shifting southerly in the far west during the day.Wednesday 9 AprilAreas of rain and possible thunder extending throughout South Australia apart from the far northeast corner, grading to patchy rain over the southeast corner of the State, and tending to scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms west of about Ceduna. Possible heavy falls with the chance of local flooding over the Flinders, Eastern Eyre and Mid North districts and north of Yorke Peninsula, as well as over the eastern half of the North West Pastoral district. Generally cool to mild with the rain, grading to warm to hot in the far northeast. Mainly light and variable winds.Thursday 10 AprilAreas of rain and possible thunder, tending to widespread rain over the agricultural area with possible heavy falls and the chance of local flooding. Rain easing later. Rain tending to isolated showers over the North West Pastoral. Generally cool to mild, grading to mild to warm in the far northeast. Light and variable winds with the rain, becoming light to moderate southwesterly from the west.Friday 11 April
Isolated showers, scattered over the agricultural area in the morning. Cool in the south grading to mild to warm in the far northeast. Mainly moderate southwest to southerly winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday morning to midnight Friday are expected to be 20 to 60 mm over much of the State. Less than 5 mm is forecast for areas northeast of Moomba. Heavier falls of 60 to 100 mm are likely over northern parts of the North West Pastoral district, with local falls in excess of 60mm possible over the agricultural area east of Ceduna and in the remainder of the North West Pastoral district.
Saturday until MondayIsolated showers over the agricultural area, scattered in the Lower South East in the morning on Saturday. The chance of isolated showers over the southern agricultural area on Sunday and Monday. Cool in the south grading to mild to warm in the far north with mainly moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CST Tuesday.Product IDS10033
