MELBOURNE - Apr 7/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea extends a ridge over northeast New South Wales. The high will remain slow-moving over the next couple of days. A low pressure trough and its associated cloud band is expected to move closer to the southwestern border areas on Tuesday and Wednesday, then across the state later in the week. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayThe chance of early showers along the northern and central coast. Isolated showers developing in the southwest, more widespread near the SA border. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Early fog patches in the east. Southeast to northeasterly winds near the coast, becoming generally light and variable further inland.Wednesday 9 AprilRain areas over the southwestern inland, gradually extending eastwards to reach the southwest slopes by the end of the day. Isolated showers developing along the southern and central coasts and adjacent ranges. Early fog patches on the ranges. Fine elsewhere. East to southeasterly winds.Thursday 10 AprilRain areas over the inland, extending towards the central and south western slopes and ranges during the afternoon. The chance of afternoon storms near the SA border. Isolated showers about the southern and central coasts. Mostly fine across the northeast. East to southeasterly winds near the coast, tending east to northeasterly inland.Friday 11 AprilRain areas over the southeast. Isolated showers over the northeast and southwest. Fine over the northwest.
