MELBOURNE - Apr 7/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea is directing a mild northeast to northerly airflow over Victoria. A trough of low pressure over the Bight and South Australia is moving slowly eastwards and is expected to cross Victoria Thursday and Friday as the next high pressure system passes well to the south of Tasmania. Forecast for the rest of MondayDry over most areas this evening, but isolated showers reaching the southwest tonight. Generally light to moderate east to northeast winds.Tuesday 8 AprilScattered showers over western and into central districts, tending to rain areas across parts of the Southwest and Wimmera districts. Mostly dry over the east after local early morning fogs. A mild to warm day with light to moderate north to northeasterly winds and afternoon seabreezes along the Gippsland coast.Fire Danger - Low to Moderate.Wednesday 9 AprilScattered showers tending to rain at times over the northwest with some heavy falls possible. A mild day with light to moderate east to northeasterly winds, tending fresh southeasterly along the coast with seabreezes.Thursday 10 AprilAreas of rain over the northwest extending to most areas during the day. Isolated thunderstorms possible in the northwest. A mild day with moderate to fresh north to northeasterly winds.Friday 11 AprilRain areas contracting eastwards with scattered showers to follow. Isolated thunderstorms possible in the far north.
