MELBOURNE - Apr 6/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system near Tasmania extends a ridge into New South Wales, while a low pressure trough moves away to the east. The high is forecast to shift to the southern Tasman Sea during Monday, strengthening a ridge along the coast and remaining the dominant feature in the region for several days. The next trough is expected to deepen over South Australia early in the week, before moving into western parts of New South Wales towards the weekend. Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers east of the Divide, scattered about central and northern parts of the coast, although easing through the evening. Possible thunderstorms in the northeast. Fine elsewhere. South to southeasterly winds, fresh along the central and northern coasts.Monday 7 AprilIsolated showers about the northern and central parts of the coast and adjacent ranges, contracting to the north during the day. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Early fog patches in the east. East to southeasterly winds near the coast, fresh in the north. East to northeasterly winds inland.Tuesday 8 AprilThe chance of early showers along the northern coast. Isolated showers developing in the southwest. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Early fog patches in the east. Southeast to northeasterly winds near the coast, becoming generally light and variable further inland.Wednesday 9 AprilShowers in the southwest, increasing to rain areas later. Isolated showers developing along the coast southern and central coasts, and adjacent ranges, and the chance of late showers across the southern inland. Fine elsewhere. East to southeasterly winds.Thursday 10 AprilRain areas in the southwest, possible extending to central districts during the day. Isolated showers about the southern and central coasts, and adjacent ranges. Mostly fine across the north.
