Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 4/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure ridge extends from the Bight across Tasmania and will drift slowly eastwards. A trough of low pressure will deepen over Western Australia during the weekend, then move into the west of South Australia early next week and remain near-stationary.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayFine apart from possible isolated showers and thunderstorms about the far northwest and far northeast corners and possible isolated light showers over the south of the Lower South East district. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the north and west. Light south to southeast winds, tending moderate easterly in the west, with moderate to fresh afternoon coastal sea breezes.Sunday 6 AprilScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms in the far west. Isolated showers elsewhere west of about Coober Pedy to Fowlers Bay, possibly extending to about Oodnadatta to Streaky Bay. Isolated showers and thunderstorms also possible in the far northeast corner. Morning fog patches in the southeast and about eastern slopes of the Mount Lofty Ranges. Mild to warm with light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds, becoming moderate to fresh northeasterly in the far west.Monday 7 AprilScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms in the far west. Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms extending from the west to about Marree to Roxby Downs to Port Lincoln and possible isolated showers extending to about Moomba to Murray Bridge. Warm with moderate north to northeasterly winds, fresh in the west.Tuesday 8 AprilFine in the far northeast. Isolated showers elsewhere, increasing to scattered showers about the north of the pastorals. The chance of isolated thunderstorms in the west. Hot in the far northeast. Mild to warm elsewhere. Mainly light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds turning southwest to southeasterly in the west later in the period. Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday morning to midnight Tuesday are expected to be 30 to 60 mm over the Northwest Pastoral north of Coober Pedy and the far northwest of the Northeast Pastoral, 10 to 30 mm over the remainder of the Northwest Pastoral, west of the Northeast Pastoral and the West Coast district. 5 to10 mm is expected over central agricultural districts with up to 5 mm in the east of the State.Wednesday until FridayIsolated showers, more widespread about central districts during Wednesday, gradually contracting south and eastwards. The chance of isolated thunderstorms on Wednesday west of about Oodnadatta to Leigh Creek to Port Lincoln. Mainly light winds. Hot in the far northeast.
