MELBOURNE - Apr 4/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure trough lies over northern New South Wales. The trough will move to the northeast during today and weaken on Sunday as a high pressure system moves near Tasmania extending a ridge across the state. This high is expected to move over the southern Tasman Sea on Monday strengthening the ridge to the north coast. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers and afternoon thunderstorms in the eastern half, tending scattered in the northeast in the afternoon. Possibler local heavy falls in the northeast. Partly cloudy in the west. Early fog areas in the east. Chiefly southwest to southerly winds.Sunday 6 AprilScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms in the northeast. Isolated showers in most remaining eastern districts, particularly near the coast. Mostly sunny remainder. Early fog patches in the east. South to southeasterly winds.Monday 7 AprilIsolated showers about the northern and central parts of the coast and adjacent ranges. Mostly sunny remainder. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Tuesday 8 AprilIsolated showers possible on the far north coast. Patchy late rain in the far west. partly cloudy remainder. Early fog patches in the east.
