Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 4/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough lies from roughly the central north of the state to the Hunter districts. The trough is expected to move just slowly through the northeast over the weekend with further thunderstorms and locally heavy rain associated. Isolated showers are expected over remaining eastern districts over the week with still fairly moist and unstable conditions persisting. A high pressure system will move eastwards into the southern Tasman Sea on Monday and gradually extend a ridge over eastern NSW. Another trough and associated rain may affect western NSW towards the middle of next week.
Forecast for the rest of FridayScattered showers and thunderstorms over most of the eastern half, locally heavy from the central north of the state to the Hunter, and tending to rain areas on the South Coast. Mostly fine on the north coast and over the western half. Southeast to northeasterly winds, fresh along the southern coast.Saturday 5 AprilIsolated showers and drizzle patches in the eastern half, more widespread about the far southeast during the morning and about the northeast in the afternoon. Isolated thunderstorms, mostly in the northeast during the afternoon and locally heavy. Fine in the west. Early fog areas in the east. Chiefly southwest to southerly winds.Sunday 6 AprilScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms in the northeast. Isolated showers in most remaining eastern districts, particularly near the coast. Fine and mostly sunny remainder. Early fog patches in the east. South to southeasterly winds.Monday 7 AprilIsolated showers about the northern and central parts of the coast and adjacent ranges. Fine and mostly sunny remainder. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Tuesday 8 AprilIsolated showers possible on the far north coast. Patchy late rain in the far west. Fine remainder.
