Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 3/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A middle level disturbance is producing a band of rain across the Pastoral and Flinders districts and will contract eastwards then clear from the far east before sunrise Friday.
A high pressure ridge south of the Bight will drift slowly eastwards, reaching Tasmania during the weekend. A trough of low pressure will deepen over Western Australia on the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayAreas of rain and possible isolated thunderstorms over the Pastoral and Flinders districts, contracting eastwards. Isolated light showers near southern and western coasts. Fine over the remainder. Moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds.Friday 4 AprilIsolated light showers about southern coastal districts clearing early afternoon. Possible isolated showers northeast of about Marree to Broken Hill and along the northern border. Possible isolated thunderstorms in the far northeast. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the far northeast. Light to moderate south to southeasterly winds, and moderate to locally fresh afternoon coastal sea breezes.Saturday 5 AprilPossible isolated showers and thunderstorms in the far north. Possible isolated light showers over the south of the Lower South East district. Mild in the south grading to warm in the north and west with chiefly light southeast to easterly winds and moderate coastal sea breezes.Sunday 6 AprilScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms in the far west. Isolated showers elsewhere west of about Coober Pedy to Ceduna with possible isolated thunderstorms in the far north. Isolated showers and thunderstorms also possible in the far northeast. Mild to warm with light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds, freshening in the far west.Monday 7 AprilScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms in the west. Isolated showers extending from the west to about Oodnadatta to Cleve and possible showers extending to about Moomba to Murray Bridge. Generally warm with moderate to fresh northerly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday afternoon to midnight Monday are expected to be highly variable with typical amounts ranging between 20 and 50 mm in the far west, less than 2 mm over the southeast and east of the Mount Lofty Ranges, and 2 to 10 mm elsewhere.Tuesday until ThursdayFine in the far northeast. Isolated showers elsewhere, increasing to scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms in the west, then easing in the west on Thursday. Mainly light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds turning south to southeasterly in the west later in the period. Hot in the far northeast.
