Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 3/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system centred near New Zealand extends a weak ridge into northeastern parts of the state. A low pressure trough currently situated over central parts of the state where it is expected to stall during Friday, before moving over northeastern parts on Saturday. This is expected to bring unsettled conditions to most western and southern districts, particularly in the southeast tomorrow as a small-scale low develops off the South Coast. The system appears likely to become mobile again later on the weekend under the influence of a passing upper-level feature, shifting to the Tasman Sea as a new ridge strengthens over the area.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayRain in the south with possible thunderstorms in the southeast. Isolated showers and thunderstorms in most central and northern districts, tending scattered inland and increasing over central parts of the coast during the evening. Locally heavy falls possible about the western slopes of the southern ranges, and elsewhere with thunderstorms. North to northeasterly winds in the northeast, with a southerly change extending across the remainder.Friday 4 AprilRain and possible thunderstorms, clearing from the west through the day and becoming focussed over central and southeastern districts. Heavy falls expected over the southern coast and adjacent ranges, with locally heavy falls possible with thunderstorms over central inland parts. Mostly fine in the northeast. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Saturday 5 AprilShowers in the east, easing early although some showers remaining about the western slopes until afternoon, and over the northeastern inland until evening. The chance of afternoon thunderstorms, mostly in he northeast. Fine in the west. Southwest to northwesterly winds.Sunday 6 AprilIsolated showers in the northeast, tending scattered on and east of the northern ranges. The chance of afternoon thunderstorms over the northwestern slopes and plains and northern ranges. Fine and mostly sunny remainder. South to southeasterly winds.Monday 7 AprilIsolated showers about the northern and central parts of the coast and adjacent ranges. Fine and mostly sunny remainder.
