Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 2/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A middle level disturbance will produce a band of rain and isolated thunderstorms across the Pastoral and Flinders districts, contracting eastwards during Thursday and clearing from the far east by sunrise Friday.
A high will ridge in south of the Bight on Thursday and then remain near stationary south of Kangaroo Island for the next few days. A trough of low pressure will deepen over Western Australia on the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayScattered showers and possible isolated thunderstorms over the far north of the agricultural area and West Coast district, the Northwest Pastoral, Flinders and south of the Northeast Pastoral, tending to rain at times in the evening. Warm to hot in the northeast with light winds, milder elsewhere with moderate to fresh southerly winds.Thursday 3 AprilAreas of rain and isolated thunderstorms in a band from the northwest corner of the State to the south of the Northeast Pastoral. Patchy rain or isolated showers and possible isolated thunderstorms over the remainder of the Pastoral districts and far north of the agricultural area. Possible isolated light showers about southern and western coasts. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm to hot in the far northeast. Light northerly winds in the far northeast in the morning. Moderate to fresh south to southeast winds over the remainder, extending across the far northeast by evening.Friday 4 AprilAreas of rain and possible isolated thunderstorms over the east of the Northeast Pastoral contracting northeastwards and easing to isolated showers by sunrise. Fine over the remainder apart from possible isolated showers over the far northwest and about southern and western coasts. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the far northeast. Light to moderate south to southeasterly winds, freshening near the coast in the afternoon.Saturday 5 AprilIsolated showers and possible isolated thunderstorms in the far north. Possible isolated light showers over the south of the Lower South East. Mild in the south grading to warm in the north and west with chiefly light southeast to northeasterly winds and moderate coastal sea breezes.Sunday 6 AprilIsolated and possible isolated thunderstorms in the far north and west, increasing to scattered showers in isolated thunderstorms in the far west. Mild to warm with light to moderate southeast to northeast winds, freshening in the far west. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday afternoon to midnight Sunday are generally expected to be less than 5 mm, reaching 10 to 20 mm over the Northwest Pastoral north of Woomera, the Flinders north of Quorn, the Northeast Pastoral south of Marree and the West Coast district west of Fowlers Bay with local falls of 20 to 40 mm in the Northwest Pastoral northwest of Coober Pedy.Monday until WednesdayScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms in the west.
