MELBOURNE - Apr 1/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Queensland was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A ridge of high pressure should remain along the east coast of Queensland during the week. A surface trough stretches from the northwest of the state down to the Warrego, and will remain in the area today and tomorrow, before drifting gradually eastwards across the southern districts along with an upper level trough late in the week. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers and thunderstorms through most western districts and in the southern and southeast interior. Isolated showers along the northeast coast and over the Peninsula district. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds.Wednesday 2 AprilScattered showers and thunderstorms over the southern interior, with more isolated activity over the remaining western districts. Isolated showers about the northeast coast. Fine and mostly sunny over the remainder of the state. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds.Thursday 3 AprilScattered showers and thunderstorms over the western and southern interior. Mostly isolated showers about the east coast and nearby inland areas. Fine and mostly sunny over the remainder of the state.Friday 4 AprilScattered showers and thunderstorms over the southern interior. Mainly isolated showers along the east coast, more widespread north of about Cooktown. Isolated showers and thunderstorms about the Gulf Country coast.Saturday until MondayScattered showers and thunderstorms across the state's southeast on Sunday, and the chance of some isolated activity over the southern interior. Conditions clearing over the southern districts early in the new working week.
