Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Apr 1/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A front over the west of the State will continue to move eastwards to reach eastern districts late evening or early Wednesday morning. A high will follow the front, being centred south of the Bight on Thursday and over the Tasman Sea on Friday. The high will maintain a ridge over the State on Friday and Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayHot with moderate to fresh northeast to northwesterly winds, ahead of a fresh and gusty southwesterly change in the west and south, extending over the agricultural area this evening. Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms following the change over areas south of about Woomera.Wednesday 2 AprilIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms extending northeastwards during the day over areas to the south of about Marree to Ernabella. Showers and thunderstorms contracting northwards during the day over the agricultural area, West Coast district and Eyre Peninsula, clearing by evening. Showers increasing to scattered over the Northwest Pastoral west of Woomera and south of Coober Pedy in the afternoon and evening. Warm to hot in the northeast ahead of a milder southerly change continuing to move northeastwards over the remainder of the state by the end of the day.Thursday 3 AprilAreas of rain and possible isolated thunderstorms developing over the Pastoral and Flinders districts, except northeast of Marree, contracting eastwards during the day to be confined to the Northeast Pastoral late evening. Fine over the remainder apart from possible isolated showers near southern and western coasts. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm to hot in the far northeast. Moderate to fresh southeasterly winds, tending northeast to northwesterly in the far northeast.Friday 4 AprilAreas of rain and possible isolated thunderstorms over the Northeast Pastoral contracting eastwards and clearing by afternoon. Fine over the remainder apart from possible isolated showers near southern and western coasts. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the far northeast. Mainly moderate southeasterly winds.Saturday 5 AprilFine apart from possible isolated showers in the far northwest and northeast. Mild in the south grading to warm in the north and west with chiefly light southeast to northeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday afternoon to midnight Saturday are generally expected to be less than 5 mm, increasing to 10 to 20 mm in rain areas.Sunday until TuesdayIsolated showers west of Ceduna to Coober Pedy, extending over most districts on Monday except northeast of Marree. Showers clearing near southern coasts and in the west on Tuesday. Mild to warm with mainly moderate northeast to northwesterly winds, becoming southwest to southeasterly on Tuesday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Wednesday.Product IDS10033
