Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 31/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough over South Australia will weaken ahead of a front moving into the west of the State on Tuesday afternoon, and then extending eastwards to reach eastern districts early on Wednesday morning. A high will follow the front, being centred south of the Bight on Thursday and over the Tasman sea on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of MondayAreas of high cloud. Possible isolated showers and thunderstorms northwest of Coober Pedy. Warm with moderate northeast to northerly winds, tending southeasterly near the coasts.Tuesday 1 AprilHigh cloud increasing in the afternoon and evening from the west. A hot day with freshening northeast to northerly winds, ahead of a fresh and gusty southwesterly change in the far west in the afternoon, extending eastwards to reach Coober Pedy to Adelaide around midnight. Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms following the change over areas south of about Woomera.Wednesday 2 AprilIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms extending northeastwards during the day over areas to the south of about Tibooburra to Ernabella. Showers and thunderstorms contracting northwards over the agricultural area and West Coast district during the morning and clearing in the afternoon. Warm to hot in the northeast ahead of a milder southerly change continuing to move northeastwards over the remainder of the state by the end of the day.Thursday 3 AprilIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms northeast of about Coober Pedy to Renmark. Fine over the remainder apart from isolated light showers near southern coasts. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm to hot in the far northeast. Moderate to fresh southeasterly winds.Friday 4 AprilIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms northeast of about Moomba. Fine over the remainder apart from isolated light showers near southern and western coasts. Cool to mild in the south grading to warm in the far northeast. Mainly moderate southeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Monday afternoon to midnight Friday are generally expected to be less than 5 mm, increasing to 5 to 15 mm in parts of the Pastoral and Flinders districts.Saturday until MondayPossible isolated showers near southern coasts, clearing by midday Saturday. Isolated showers in the far north and west on Saturday, becoming confined to western districts to the west of about Ceduna to Coober Pedy on Sunday, then extending eastwards over the agricultural area on Monday. Mild in the south grading to warm in the north and west. Mainly moderate southeast to northeasterly winds, tending northeast to northwesterly later in the period.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Tuesday.Product IDS10033
