Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 31/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure ridge lies over eastern NSW while a weak, slow moving trough extends from Queensland into the far north of the state. The ridge will persist over the east tomorrow, contracting to the northeast on Wednesday as a front approaches southwest NSW. The front should bring an increase in shower activity to western and southern parts of the state later in the week as it moves only slowly eastward.
Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers over the northeastern third of the state, tending scattered along the far north coast. Isolated thunderstorms possible for the central north this afternoon, more likely near the Queensland border. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Generally light to moderate northeast to southeasterly winds.Tuesday 1 AprilMorning fog patches in the east. Isolated showers in the north and far southern ranges. Possible afternoon thunderstorms over the northern inland. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Northeasterly winds.Wednesday 2 AprilIsolated showers across the state, tending scattered over the western slopes and plains. The chance of thunderstorms over the central inland. Northerly winds ahead of a southwesterly change in the southwest during the day.Thursday 3 AprilIsolated showers across the state, tending scattered over the central and north west. The chance of thunderstorms across central and southern parts, extending towards central parts of the coast during the afternoon. South to southeasterly winds, tending northerly in the northeast.Friday 4 AprilRain areas across central and southeastern parts of the state. Isolated showers across the northeast. Fine remainder.
