U.S. Farmers Boost Sweet Potatoes
WASHINGTON - Mar 31/14 - SNS -- Planted area of sweet potatoes is estimated at 126,300 acres, up 9% from the previous year, according to the USDA's seeding intentions estimates for 2014.
In Arkansas and New Jersey, field preparations have been sporadic due to weather conditions. Growers in California began planting sweet potatoes but water availability remains a concern.
