MELBOURNE - Mar 31/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Queensland was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weak ridge lies over the Queensland's east coast, and is expected to strengthen from today. A surface trough lies over the far west. A series of upper level troughs will track east over the southern half of the state during the week. Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms over most southern districts, and more isolated activity over the far northern tropics. Mainly isolated showers about parts of the east coast and nearby inland areas. Fine and mostly sunny over the northern and western interior districts.Tuesday 1 AprilIsolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms through the western and far northern districts. Mainly isolated showers along the east coast, and fine and mostly sunny over the eastern interior. Very warm in the southwest.Wednesday 2 AprilScattered showers and thunderstorms over the southern interior, and more isolated activity over the far northern tropics. Mostly isolated showers about the east coast and nearby inland areas. Fine and mostly sunny over the remainder of the state.Thursday 3 AprilIsolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms over the western and southern interior districts. Mostly isolated showers about the east coast and nearby inland areas, more widespread about the North Tropical Coast. Fine and mostly sunny over the remainder of the state.Friday until SundayA ridge of high pressure will push showers over the east coast whilst keeping most of the remainder of the state fine and mostly sunny.
