MELBOURNE - Mar 31/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weak high pressure system will be centred over the Tasman Sea during today and Tuesday. The next cold front and associated trough will cross the State on Wednesday. Another high pressure system will move from the Bight to be centred near Tasmania late Thursday as a trough of low pressure over NSW extends to northern Victoria. Forecast for the rest of MondayMorning fog patches mainly in the south and east then generally fine and mainly sunny day. Isolated showers possible over the far west late afternoon and evening. Warm to very warm with light to moderate northerly winds and afternoon seabreezes along the Gippsland coast.Fire Danger - Generally high reaching very high in the southwest.Tuesday 1 AprilFine apart from possible thundery showers about the far eastern ranges late in the day. Warm to very warm and partly cloudy with moderate to fresh northerly winds.Wednesday 2 AprilA band of showers crossing the State but only isolated showers over the northwest. The chance of thunderstorms in the east. Mild to warm over the north and east with moderate to fresh northerly winds, but cooler south to southwesterly winds extending throughout.Thursday 3 AprilShowers in the east becoming isolated. Isolated showers also possible in the south, but dry and mostly sunny over the northwest.
