Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 31/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A ridge of high pressure over eastern South Australia will contract eastwards ahead of a low pressure trough that will move across the State on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of MondayAreas of high cloud with possible isolated showers developing over the North West Pastoral, West Coast and Eastern Eyre Peninsula forecast districts and possible isolated afternoon thunderstorms in the far northwest. Possible afternoon showers on and east of the Mount Lofty Ranges, mostly over the Murraylands and Upper South East districts. Warm to hot with moderate to fresh northerly winds, and light afternoon coastal sea breezes.Tuesday 1 AprilHigh cloud increasing from the west. Possible showers and thunderstorms extending eastwards to reach about Woomera, Clare and Adelaide in the evening, increasing to isolated showers over Kangaroo Island and the southern parts of Eyre Peninsula and Yorke Peninsula. Generally hot with moderate to fresh northeast to northwesterly winds ahead of a milder fresh to strong southerly change moving eastwards to reach about Coober Pedy to Mount Gambier towards midnight.Wednesday 2 AprilIsolated showers and possible thunder over southern agricultural areas during the morning with a band of possible thundery showers moving across western and inland area of the State, reaching a line about Oodnadatta to Leigh Creek to Broken Hill by the end of the day. Thundery showers clearing from the far west during the afternoon and evening. Warm to hot in the northeast ahead of a milder southerly change continuing northeastwards over the remainder of the state by the end of the day.Thursday 3 AprilA band of isolated thundery showers northeast of about Tarcoola to Renmark continuing to contract northeastwards during the day. Possible isolated light showers persisting about southern and western coasts. Warm to hot. Cool to mild over agricultural areas and southern Pastoral districts, grading to warm to hot in the north. Mainly moderate southeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Monday morning to midnight Thursday are generally expected to be less than 5 mm, increasing to 5 to 15 mm in parts of the Pastoral districts and southern agricultural areas.Friday until SundayIsolated thundery showers clearing from the northeast on Friday. Possible isolated light showers about the southern and western coasts clearing during the weekend. Possible showers re-developing across the north and west late in the period. Remaining cool to mild in the south and warm to hot in the north. Light to moderate southeasterly winds, turning northeasterly in the west later in the period.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Monday.Product IDS10033
