MELBOURNE - Mar 30/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weak ridge of high pressure will persist over Victoria until Tuesday however an upper level trough will move eastwards across Gippsland today. A cold front and associated trough will enter the far southwest of the State late Tuesday and will cross the remainder of the State on Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of SundayMorning fog patches in the south. Isolated showers and thunderstorms over central and eastern districts becoming scattered over the eastern ranges during the afternoon then clearing from the west. Fine and mainly sunny over the west. Warm with light winds although milder near the coast with afternoon seabreezes.Fire Danger - Low to Moderate.Monday 31 MarchIsolated showers possible over the far west late afternoon or evening, otherwise fine and mainly sunny. Warm to very warm with light to moderate northerly winds and afternoon seabreezes along the Gippsland coast.Tuesday 1 AprilIsolated showers possible over the far southwest in the afternoon and evening and also about the far eastern ranges. Fine and mainly sunny elsewhere. Warm to very warm with moderate to fresh northerly winds. Afternoon coastal seabreezes along the Gippsland coast.Wednesday 2 AprilA band of showers crossing the State but only isolated showers over the northwest. The chance of thunderstorms in the east.
