Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 29/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A ridge of high pressure over southern South Australia will move slowly eastwards to be over Victoria on Sunday and the Tasman Sea on Monday. A trough of low pressure will enter the far west of the State Tuesday night and continue across SA on Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms on and east of the Ranges south of about Hawker until evening. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Cool to mild with mainly light winds turning east to northeasterly overnight.Sunday 30 MarchMostly sunny. Possible early morning fog patches over southern agricultural areas. Warm to hot with moderate to fresh northerly winds.Monday 31 MarchAreas of high cloud with possible isolated showers and thunderstorms developing in the west, gradually extending eastwards during the day to reach a line about Coober Pedy to Hawker to Renmark, before mostly clearing in the evening. Warm to hot grading to very hot in the northeast with moderate to fresh northerly winds in the north and east ahead of a milder southerly change in the west.Tuesday 1 AprilCloudy with possible isolated thundery showers over central and eastern districts at first. Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms developing about the western border during the afternoon and evening, possibly extending as far east as Coober Pedy and Cleve by the end of the day. Warm to hot with mainly moderate northeast to northwesterly winds.Wednesday 2 AprilA band of showers moving across western and southern parts of the State, reaching a line about Marla to Hawker to Yunta by the end of the day. Warm to hot ahead of a milder southerly change in the west extending eastwards to reach Ceduna around midday, then Leigh Creek to Murray Bridge late evening. Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday to midnight Tuesday are expected to be less than 2 mm, with isolated falls of 2 to 15 mm with thunderstorms.Thursday until SaturdayA band of showers over central and eastern districts contracting to the northeast corner and clearing by Friday night. Possible isolated showers persisting about southern and western coasts. Warm to hot ahead in the northeast with moderate northerly winds ahead of a milder southerly change extending throughout early in the period, then turning southeasterly late in the week.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Sunday.Product IDS10033
