Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 28/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system is centred over the Tasman Sea while a broad trough extends through Queensland and northern New South Wales. An offshore low is expected to deepen and remain slow moving in the western Tasman, while fairly feeble ridge extends across western and southeastern parts of the state. This weak pressure pattern is then expected to remain a feature of the region through the weekend and early next week.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayMorning fog patches. The chance of showers over southern half and in the northeast, more likely over central and southern ranges with the chance of afternoon thunderstorms on the Alps. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Light and variable winds inland, tending south to southwesterly along the coast.Sunday 30 MarchIsolated showers on and east of the ranges. Possible thunderstorms over the southern Ranges. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. South to southeasterly winds, tending easterly inland.Monday 31 MarchIsolated showers in the northeast, tending scattered in the far northeast. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Tuesday 1 AprilIsolated showers in the northeast and far south. Mostly sunny elsewhere.
