MELBOURNE - Mar 28/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system is centred over the Tasman Sea while a broad trough extends through Queensland and New South Wales. This trough will move eastwards today as the high weakens and a cold front passes to the south. A low is expected to deepen within the trough as it moves off the coast later today, with a new, although fairly feeble, ridge extending across the state from the west. A weak pressure pattern is then expected to remain a feature of the region through the weekend. Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers tending scattered over the central ranges and inland. Scattered showers over the Midnorth Coast. Partly cloudy over the far western inland. Isolated thunderstorms in the east, mainly about the central parts of the state. Light winds inland, tending west to southwesterly along the coast this evening.Saturday 29 MarchMorning fog patches. The chance of showers in the east and south, more likely near the coast. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Light and variable winds inland, tending south to southwesterly along the coast.Sunday 30 MarchIsolated showers on and east of the ranges. Possible thunderstorms over the southern Ranges. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. South to southeasterly winds, tending easterly inland.Monday 31 MarchIsolated showers in the northeast, tending scattered in the far northeast. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Tuesday 1 AprilIsolated showers in the northeast and far south. Mostly sunny elsewhere.
