Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 27/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
An upper level cold pool of air near Woomera will move eastwards during today to be east of the State early Friday. A trough of low pressure over central parts of South Australia is bringing a humid and unstable airmass over eastern and central parts of the State. A weak high will move to the south on Friday and Saturday ahead of a trough of low pressure moving into the far west on Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers and thunderstorms east of about Moomba to Ceduna, scattered over and east of the Flinders Ranges and northern Mount Lofty Ranges, easing in the evening. Mild to warm. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds and moderate coastal sea breezes.Friday 28 MarchMorning fog patches, except in the far north. Isolated showers and possible isolated thunderstorms over eastern and central districts south and east of about Broken Hill to Port Augusta to Port Lincoln. Possible isolated showers more generally south of about Ceduna to Leigh Creek. Mild in the south grading to warm in the north with mainly light winds.Saturday 29 MarchMorning fog patches over the agricultural area, West Coast and south of the pastoral districts. Possible isolated showers and thunderstorms south of Broken Hill, fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Mild to warm in the south, grading to hot in the north. Light to moderate north to northwest winds.Sunday 30 MarchDry and warm to hot with moderate to fresh northerly winds, ahead of a milder fresh southerly change in the far west late Sunday. Possible isolated showers and thunderstorms with the change.Monday 31 MarchAreas of cloud with possible isolated showers and thunderstorms in the south and west, gradually extending to reach a line from Coober Pedy to Broken Hill by evening. Warm to hot, very hot in the northeast with moderate to fresh northerly winds in the north and east ahead of a milder southerly change about southern and western coastal districts. Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday to midnight Monday are expected to be 2 to 10 mm over areas to the east of about Moomba to Port Lincoln, with isolated falls of 10 to 30 mm with thunderstorms. Less than 2 mm is expected elsewhere.Tuesday until ThursdayAreas of cloud with possible isolated showers and thunder extending over most parts of the State, except the far northeast. Warm to hot in the northeast with moderate northerly winds, mild to warm elsewhere with mainly moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Friday.Product IDS10033
