MELBOURNE - Mar 26/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation An upper level cold pool of air over over northern Eyre Peninsula will move northeastwards during Thursday to be east of the State early Friday. A trough of low pressure over central parts of South Australia is bringing a humid and unstable airmass over eastern and central parts of the State. A weak high will move to the south on Friday and Saturday ahead of a trough of low pressure moving into the far west on Sunday. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers and possible isolated thunderstorms over the agricultural area, Flinders district and south of the Pastoral districts and near the remaining eastern border. Mild to warm. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds and moderate to fresh coastal sea breezes until mid evening.Thursday 27 MarchMorning fog patches over Kangaroo Island and in the west. Isolated showers and thunderstorms east of about Moomba to Venus Bay, tending scattered in the afternoon. Mild to warm. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds and moderate coastal sea breezes.Friday 28 MarchMorning fog patches, except in the far north. Isolated early morning showers and possible isolated thunderstorms over eastern districts north of about Lameroo. Isolated showers over the agricultural area., clearing in the evening. Mild in the south grading to warm in the north with mainly light winds.Saturday 29 MarchMorning fog patches over the southern agricultural area and west coast. A fine, partly cloudy day. Mild to warm in the south, grading to hot in the north. Light to moderate north to northwest winds.Sunday 30 MarchDry and warm to hot with moderate to fresh northerly winds, ahead of a milder fresh southerly change in the far west late Sunday. Possible isolated showers with the change. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday evening to midnight Sunday are expected to be 2 to 10 mm over areas to the east of about Moomba to Venus Bay, with isolated falls of 10 to 30 mm with thunderstorms.
