Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 25/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
An upper level cold pool of air over western New South Wales is moving westwards to be centred over northern Eyre Peninsula on Wednesday afternoon and Thursday. A trough of low pressure over the eastern states is also moving west into South Australia, bringing a humid and unstable airmass over eastern and central parts of the State. A high will move in south of the Bight on Friday and move east across Tasmania during Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers and possible isolated thunderstorms over eastern agricultural districts and the far south of the Northeast Pastoral, extending into central agricultural districts. Mild in the south grading to warm in the north. Light to moderate south to southeasterly winds, fresh near the coasts.Wednesday 26 MarchIsolated showers and possible isolated thunderstorms in the east and over central agricultural districts and Eyre Peninsula. Morning fog patches over the Flinders Ranges and adjacent districts to the east. Mild to warm. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds and moderate to fresh coastal sea breezes.Thursday 27 MarchIsolated showers and thunderstorms east of about Moomba to Venus Bay, tending scattered in the afternoon. Mild to warm. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds and moderate coastal sea breezes.Friday 28 MarchPossible isolated early morning showers and thunderstorms over the Mid- North district and eastern districts between Broken Hill and Keith. Possible isolated showers over southern coasts and ranges, contracting to the southeast in the evening. Mild in the south grading to warm in the north with mainly light winds.Saturday 29 MarchIsolated showers over the South East district and the south of the Murraylands. Mild to warm in the south, grading to hot in the north. Light to moderate north to northwest winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday morning to midnight Saturday are expected to be 2 to 10 mm over areas to the east of about Moomba to Venus Bay, with up to 2 mm possible over remaining western coasts. Isolated falls of 10 to 30 mm are possible with thunderstorms.Sunday until TuesdayFine and warm to hot with moderate to fresh northerly winds, ahead of a milder southerly southerly change in the far west late Sunday, extending over the west and south during Monday and into the northeast interior on Tuesday. Isolated showers following the change and developing over the northeast on Tuesday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Wednesday.Product IDS10033
