Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 24/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system to the south of the Bight will move eastwards to be over the Tasman Sea by Wednesday night. A broad low pressure trough over the eastern states will move across the eastern border of South Australia on Wednesday and Thursday, moving back to the east of the State on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayPossible isolated showers about the eastern coasts of Eyre Peninsula, and remaining southern and western coasts. Isolated showers also developing near the eastern border in the afternoon, extending westwards towards the ranges in the evening. Possible isolated thunderstorms about the eastern parts of the Riverland and Murraylands districts. Mild in the south grading to warm in the north. Light to moderate south to southeasterly winds.Wednesday 26 MarchIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms over the Riverland, Murraylands, South East and eastern Mount Lofty Ranges districts, and along the eastern border to the north of Renmark, and also developing over Eyre Peninsula in the afternoon. Isolated morning showers near southern and western coasts and near the western coasts of Spencer Gulf. Mild to warm. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds.Thursday 27 MarchIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms developing to the east of about Moomba to Elliston. Showers increasing to scattered over the Flinders district, Northeast Pastoral south of Leigh Creek and the Lower South East district. Mild to warm. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds.Friday 28 March
Possible early thunderstorms near the eastern border between Broken Hill and Lameroo. Isolated showers over southern coasts and eastern districts south of Broken Hill, contracting south and east to be confined to Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East by evening. Mild in the south grading to warm in the north with mainly light winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday morning to midnight Friday are expected to be 2 to 10 mm over areas to the east of about Moomba to Elliston, with up to 2 mm possible over remaining western coasts. Isolated falls of 10 to 20 mm are possible with thunderstorms.
Saturday until MondayIsolated showers near southern coasts, clearing during Saturday morning, then fine throughout until possible isolated showers develop in the far west and Lower South East district on Monday. Warm in the south grading to hot in the north and west with light to moderate northeast to northwesterly winds, shifting southerly in the west and south on Monday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Tuesday.Product IDS10033
