Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 23/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front will move through central and east Bass Strait this morning, clipping south Victoria. A high pressure system south of the Bight will ridge across Tasmania on Tuesday to reaching the Tasman Sea by early Wednesday. Meanwhile, an inland trough will extend over northern Victoria, moving westwards on Wednesday as the high strengthens in the Tasman Sea. A small low pressure system will form over western Victoria late on Thursday as a weakening cold front moves through the Southern Ocean.
Forecast for the rest of MondayPatch early morning fog, mainly over Gippsland. Mostly cloudy with isolated showers in the south, extending to western inland areas during the afternoon and the northeast inland by the evening. Cool in the south, mild in the north. Moderate southwest to southerly winds, fresh at times along the coast.Fire Danger -  Moderate to high.Tuesday 25 MarchIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the north. Generally dry in the south. Mild to warm with light to moderate southeasterly winds.Wednesday 26 MarchIsolated showers extending to most districts, with the chance of thunderstorms, mainly in the north. Mild to warm day with light to moderate east to northeasterly winds, fresh at times near the coast.Thursday 27 MarchRain areas extending across most central and western districts, showers in the remainder.
