Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 23/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system to the southwest of WA will move slowly eastwards over the next several days to be south of the Bight on Monday, then over the Tasman Sea on Wednesday and Thursday. A broad low pressure trough will develop over the State on Wednesday and Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayPossible isolated showers near southern coasts. Cool in the south grading to warm in the far northeast. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds.Monday 24 MarchFine apart from possible isolated showers over the agricultural area and the Nullarbor coast, mostly clearing in the evening. Early fog patches over the Murraylands and South East district. Cool to mild in the south grading to mild to warm in the north. Light to moderate south to southeasterly winds.Tuesday 25 MarchIsolated showers near southern and western coasts and near the western coasts of Spencer Gulf. Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms developing near the eastern border south of about Renmark in the afternoon and evening. Mild in the south grading to warm in the north. Light to moderate south to southeasterly winds.Wednesday 26 MarchIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms over the Riverland, Murraylands and South East districts, and developing after midday along the eastern border to the north of Renmark. Fine over the remainder apart from isolated morning showers near southern and western coasts and near the western coasts of Spencer Gulf. Mild to warm. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds.Thursday 27 MarchIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms to the east of the Flinders and Mount Lofty Ranges, increasing to scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon. Fine over the remainder apart from a possible afternoon or evening shower over Lower and Eastern Eyre Peninsula. Mild to warm. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds, becoming southwest to southeasterly during the afternoon. Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday afternoon to midnight Thursday are expected to be 2 to 10 mm to the east of the Flinders and Mount Lofty Ranges, with up to 2 mm possible over the remainder of the agricultural area.Friday until SundayIsolated showers over southern coasts and eastern districts south of Broken Hill, contracting southwards to be confined to Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East on the weekend. Mild in the south grading to warm in the north, then becoming warmer throughout on the weekend. Mainly light winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Monday.Product IDS10033
